THE CINEMA MAJESTIK IN KORÇA 🇦🇱

On October 21, 1931 at the "Cinema Majestik" in Korça, was shown the first movie with the sound. 🔊🎞️ This happened just over three years after the first feature-length film "The Jazz Singer" to incorporate synchronized sound for sequences of dialogue, was released by Warner Bros. in USA 🇺🇸, late 1927. Though these sequences were limited and brief, hearing the voices of the film’s stars was a revelation for audiences. The following year, Warner Bros. pushed the possibilities of sound further with "The Lights of New York", the first feature-length film with its entire dialogue recorded. General Mehmet Pasha Dëralla

On October 31, 1843, in Gradec, a village between Tetova and Gostivar (today North Macedonia), was born the great warrior for the freedom and independence of Albania, General Mehmet Pasha Dëralla. He was graduated from the Military Academy in Istanbul and served as a high officer in Iraq, Libya, Syria, and Greece. General Dëralla was fully at the service of the League of Prizren. Later he became one of the initiators and leaders of the League of Peja and Ferizaj Assembly and fought in the anti-Ottoman insurrection in 1910-1912. Thomson died on January 15, 1899 and was buried in Istanbul. Under his direction the office of the British Bible Society & Foreign Countries for the Ottoman Empire more than one million copies of the Holy Scriptures were circulated in more than twenty languages ​​used in that Empire.
