The map where the largest number of Illyrian helmets were discovered. It is understood that the map is incomplete since Illyrian helmets have been found in other places in the ILLYRIAN PENINSULA as well as in other countries such as England, etc. The type of ILLYRIAN or Greco-Illyrian helmet as called in some sources, is a bronze helmet in most cases which appears in the 8th century BC, so somewhere around 2700-800 years ago.
The helmet covers the whole head and cheeks and in some variations also the neck. Most helmets had the place where the crest went up, depending on the rank of the soldiers who wore it.
