The latest film of the American director Christopher Nolan, “Oppenheimer”, is touring cinemas around the world, with the exception of Japan.

The film’s distributor in the island nation, Toho-Tova, has yet to announce a release date for the film, which is about scientist J. Robert Oppenheimer’s creation of the atomic bomb during World War II that was used to destroy Hiroshima and Nagasaki in August 1945.

Most Japanese visitors to the Peace Memorial Park said they had not heard of the film, which has not been widely advertised in Japan as it stirs up much controversy.
